The Inclusion Team offers a number of services:
Additional Inclusion Officer Support
We offer schools the opportunity to purchase ‘Additional Inclusion Officer Support’ which provides extra capacity to help schools address issues around pupil attendance. This support can range from intervening with individual pupils, to promoting whole-school approaches aimed at improving overall attendance. Schools can request a tailored package to meet their individual needs, which is in addition to the core statutory service on offer.
Supporting Allegation Interviews
To enable schools to meet their safeguarding responsibilities, we can provide an appropriately qualified and experienced Inclusion Officer to support and advise pupils who are involved in witness interviews of a sensitive nature.
Head teachers and Chairs of Governing Bodies have a responsibility to ensure that an appropriately qualified and suitably experienced adult is present to support pupils when they need to be interviewed as part of personnel investigations arising from allegations made against members of school staff. This service will support schools in meeting their welfare responsibilities.
'Hot Spot Blitz'
The Hot Spot Blitz activity is an intensive intervention programme that provides schools with short-term extra capacity and support to promote regular attendance via direct work with pupils and their parents.
This is a stand-alone intervention that can be purchased on a 'one-off' or annual basis. Experienced Inclusion Officers will conduct an audit of school's registration and attendance monitoring processes to highlight good practice, and to identify any areas for development.
